This residence is situated on a stunning 3-acre lot in the Portola Valley with a 13,000 s.f. building envelope. JLJA worked closely with the client and architect to create an elegant landscape that nestles the new home into the woodland edge and rolling hills while framing spectacular views across the valley. The landscape design responds to physical constraints, such as a creek and fault line, while enhancing the site’s natural beauty. Focused on blending into the setting, the plan both complements the architecture and responds to site conditions while successfully meeting local guidelines regarding plant and water use. JLJA participated extensively in the process of attending meetings with and gaining approval from local architectural review boards and planning commissions.
