Joby/Plantronics Campus Renovations / Located in Santa Cruz since its 1961 founding, Plantronics’ 13-acre headquarters (now occupied by Joby) enacted the electronics company's commitment to Global Citizenship in its conscientious use of water, solar power, and sustainable building practices. Striving to provide employees with varied styles of meeting and working spaces that promote healthy lifestyles, JLJA collaborated with Plantronics for over a decade on renovating multiple courtyards and flexible outdoor spaces. These spaces, ranging in size from 2,300 s.f. to 126,500 s.f., link together to create a cohesive campus. Highlights include a striking red-paneled metal trellis, privacy screens, tranquil koi pond, sound-muffling fountain, drought-tolerant plantings, and overall low maintenance landscape for long-term success. The newest space incorporates a 20-tree fruit orchard, meditation yurt, barbecue and event space, bocce and horseshoe courts, soccer field, and basketball court to create a "back yard" for the company's employees.
