Live Oak Community Resources / From concept design through construction administration, JLJA worked with Boone Low Ratliff Architects to develop this new center for dozens of health and human-service-based programs in Santa Cruz County. The result of design workshops and a community-based process, this project is most notable for its success in blending sustainability goals with a child-centered design. Outdoor spaces for active and passive play incorporate and celebrate recycled and locally-sourced materials, native and drought-tolerant plantings, and innovative stormwater design. While Live Oak Community Resources is certified LEED® Platinum, JLJA is most proud of the project's continuing contribution to the community.
